Izzy O’Reilly signed her National Letter of Intent to Eastern Michigan University to join their Rowing Team. While Izzy has never been on a rowing team, she was discovered by the school as they often look for for female athletes who play basketball in high school and have the potential to learn the sport quickly. Izzy attended a campus visit and got to experience rowing and found it came to her quite quickly. The College Rowing season begins in the fall, breaks during the winter months, and then has a heavier spring season. Congratulations and good luck, Izzy!

Greetings Goodhue Community,
We are excited to offer a new opportunity for students who attend Goodhue Schools. This year we are starting a Construction class in which senior high students will be building a house. This is a great opportunity for our students and community. Our new "Wildcat Construction" has secured some grants to help us start the program, but we do need a few more items. Many in the community have expressed the desire to help start this program for our kids. Attached is a Menards gift registry for the items that community members can purchase to help with the program. Items will be shipped to the school once purchased. We would like items to be purchased by September 6th. The registry is under "Goodhue Wildcat Construction". Your contribution will be recognized during the upcoming school year. You can purchase one item or several, every little bit helps and adds up to make a big difference.
Thank you for your consideration as we start this great program.
Go Wildcats!

On Thursday morning April 25th, Goodhue School will be hosting a Mock Crash Event for High School students in the area near the school and park.
The community should be aware that there will be an increased presence of law enforcement and emergency vehicles in the area due to the event.
Last Friday, the 8th grade students got the opportunity to take part in a seat belt convincer presentation put on by MnDOT and some other local representatives that are part of the Toward Zero Deaths initiative. They calculated some physics of a crash scenario and were also able to ride on the seat belt convincer - which simulates a 10-15 mph crash feel while wearing a seat belt. It was frigid outside but they were troopers!
